Valorbois (BE)
20 t/h biomass fired steam boiler

KEM A/S has been awarded a contract for a biomass fired steam boiler for Valorbois Combined Heat and Power (CHP) project in Belgium.

The scope of supply includes a.o. the following main items:

- Fuel handling by automatic crane system
- Fuel feeding system
- Air cooled mechanical step grate
- Steam boiler (20 t/h, 46,8 bar(g), 450°C)
- Air preheater
- Flue gas cleaning system incl. bag filter, ducts, ID fan and stack
- Combustion air system incl. fans, ducts and damper system
- Steel structures, platforms and stairs.

The plant will be designed to use wood based biomass to generate steam for power generation by steam turbine as well as thermal energy for wood pellet production. The project will be carried out from 2008 to 2010 together with AREVA Bioenergies SA. Nominal operating data:
